Al Joshua

Al Joshua was the lead singer and songwriter in Orphans & Vandals. In 2009 they released their debut album to wide critical acclaim:

"The single most exciting band I've encountered." - Tom Robinson, BBC6

"A stricken, subtonic dream of London that makes the capital feel fresh" - NME

"I feel that we could potentially look back upon 'I am alive and you are dead' in years to come and view it as a classic. We should celebrate it for its vision and for its courage" - Artrocker Magazine

"This is the best band in London... This is music as a living breathing entity; nothing by numbers... In an hour they prove that this is one of the years most exciting releases from one of the most exciting singer-songwriters to come out of London in an age.." - The Gay Times

“The record is a startling anthology of wide-eyed journeys through sprawling cities, half-lidded, semen-soaked musings, bittersweet lullabies, explicit, illicit rants and moments of smouldering, intense stillness that are never quite still. It truly is alive: it breathes.” – Loud and Quiet

"...an epic nine track wonder, powered by Al Joshua's mesmerizing delivery...dizzyingly complex arrangements recorded live... A fascinatingly articulate talent emerges." – Attitude

Scott Lloyd

Scott’s music is known for its melodic and lyrical qualities. A combination of Neil Young’s emotional and personal lyricism and The Beatles’ catchy and flowing melodies, with recognisable influences from Paul Weller, The Coral, Richard Hawley and The Smiths. Scott plays guitar and the harmonica on his recordings, as well as co-producing all his arrangements, which manage to harness the sound of live musicianship into studio sound quality.

In early 2018, Scott signed to Cornwall based independent record and publishing label, Aardvark Records for one year.

The singer’s last self-released EP was called In The Garden, and came out in 2017 with a sold out launch in Manchester. Scott released his fourth EP in 2015 entitled Ironopolis, inspired by firm roots in his hometown of Middlesbrough. Straight after release it reached number 12 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter Charts.

Following this release, Scott was invited to an acoustic live session at BBC Introducing Tees and played at Glastonbury Festival in 2015. Scott then crossed the Atlantic to perform acoustic shows of the album on a tour from San Francisco right across to Vancouver in Canada.

Since his debut EP released in 2013, entitled Long Live You, Scott has released six EPs as an independent artist. All songs are written and performed by Scott except In The Garden which was recorded and performed live with a full backing band in 2017. Scott’s other EPs are; The Northern Gate (2013), Give Me Something (2014), Ironopolis (2015) and The Game (2016).

Scott’s folk rock sound and songwriting has been lauded in the music and Manchester media including The Skinny, Merc, Clash, Narc, NE Volume, Telegraph Music, Manchester Evening News and Sunday Girl Magazine. Scott’s self-titled debut album was released in 2019 to critical acclaim.

Tracy Bruen

"With a stunning vocal range and a theatrical bent, multi-instrumentalist Tracy Bruen blends indie folk with wistful blues to tug the heartstrings and inspire the mind. Let her rich and intriguing melodies take you away on a wave of sound and soul that is as original as it is lyrical." Electric Picnic 2014
(Listed by Electric Picnic as one of the Top Picks of the Bandstand Stage at Electric Picnic 2014.)

Galway based musician, Tracy Bruen began playing her original music in 2013. Tracy's original music combines a mixture of indie folk with hints of blues. A multi-instrumentalist and classically trained singer, Tracy engages a wide vocal range to explore the elements of the voice as an instrument in her songs. The musicians in her band come from from a wide variety of musical backgrounds, with each member bringing diversity and creativity to create a rich and interesting sound.

This summer sees the band play at Body & Soul, Westport Festival, Sunflowerfest and Electric Picnic.

Tracy also regularly plays as part of the Gingerbeard Family, a group of Galway based musicians. As a former member of Galway band, My Fellow Sponges, Tracy played on all tracks on their debut album, Bonne Nuit, released in July 2013. She also hosts the Open Mic night in the Risn Dubh on a weekly basis.

Nix Dadry

Nix Dadry reflects on the experiences in music so far. The naivety, the truth, the lies, the good guys and bad guys. After making two albums with his first band and playing the circuit, he parted ways for all the familiar reasons, looking back on it as training ground.

Nix describes his sound as: “sharing the love of rock, blues, grunge and soul. Alongside others out there, I’d like to reclaim music for those who actually have something to say…”

Originally from the West Midlands UK, Nix cut his live teeth whilst living in London. Most recordings took place in Birmingham due to a good rapport with Univibe Audio. On jaunts abroad, he’s played in New York City & Istanbul.

Since the release of his debut album “Magic Water” (which celebrates the love of rock, grunge & blues) he’d like to reclaim music for those who actually have something to say.

Always open and enthusiastic, he also recorded a Rap/Rock collaboration with De’Mar The Illest Poet & M.A.C.A (two LA hiphop artists). Eager to get out and play live again, Nix is currently working on the new EP set for release in 2019!
