Sam Gifford and the Innocent
Influences include John Mayer, Switchfoot, Bruce Springsteen and Mumford and Sons but Sam creates unique music. Instantly recognisable, the songs blend catchy, radio friendly hooks and powerful guitars fleshed out with rich backing vocal harmonies to deliver a full, vibrant and edgy sound.
Sam’s songs offer a lyrical depth and maturity that is at odds with his youth and set him apart from many of his peers. His songs talk of finding hope, courage, beauty and redemption in the midst of the struggle of everyday life, and Sam sings with an authentic and passionate voice which connects with a wide audience.
A “band of brothers” by day, on stage their powerful and exuberant performances move seamlessly from a tightly rehearsed set to a relaxed spontaneity with the boys and the crowd feeding off each other’s energy.
Sam Gifford and The Innocent have a catalogue of tracks and are soon to release their debut EP. The band are continuing to play shows across the country. Tour dates can be found here - https://www.samgiffordandtheinnocent.com/tour
Frances Clare is a Cape Town Indie-Folk band with a unique sound consisting of touring duo Frances Litten on vocals & Brandon Sundae Johnson on guitar.
After a busy 2018 & 2019 for the full 5 piece band, with performances all over South Africa including Splashy Fen and Up the Creek, Frances has embarked on her debut
Europe tour in June & July. She will be joined on stage by Brandon Johnson in Europe who will be bringing his silky guitar skills to compliment Frances's soothing vocals.
With performances scheduled for Belgium, The Netherlands, England and Scotland, the duo are on a mission to spread their message all over Europe & look forward
to their debut performance at the legendary The Spice of Life- Soho, thanks to Substance.
Frances Clare is South African singer/songwriter based in Cape Town. Her sets are mainly acoustic and she has been described as having an "indie/folk/alternative" sound.
Besides performing regularly at prominent venues & festivals all over South Africa, Frances is a full time Music Performance student in Cape Town. Her sets are a mixture of originals and reworked covers on the guitar and ukulele. However, the 21 year old's instrument of choice is a pen and paper and she cites her lyrical inspirations as American band Counting Crows, New Zealand singer/songwriter Lorde and South African solo act Matthew Mole.
